Help! March for Babies Walk THIS Sunday!
Every year Miranda and I participate in the March for Babies. It did not seem like we would be able to walk this year with our new baby on the way. Now that we have little Alex Miranda thinks she might feel up to it and I don't want to give less than 100% on my fundraising effort this year.
Sadly, I've only raised just over $50 to this point. The walk is this coming Sunday and I need your help. I would like to raise at least $220. That may seem like a large amount of money to raise in just a few short days, but I know you all can do it. My friends and family have come through for me in the past and I know you can do it again.
Contributing to my walk online is fast, easy and secure. You can donate directly from my personal webpage with a credit card or PayPal. If you prefer, I can also accept cash or check. Just click the appropriate box on my webpage.
My personal web page address for donations is...

Why March for Babies? Because the March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will help:
- support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
- educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a healthy baby
- provide comfort and information to families with a newborn in intensive care
- push for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children
The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Gives Parents of Preemie a New Home
ABC's hit television series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will focus this Sunday's 8 p.m. (ET) episode on a March of Dimes volunteer family from outside Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, whose child was born prematurely and whose home was later destroyed by a flood.
The Augustin family of Keller, Texas, was selected because they are dedicated to helping other families with premature babies and because they are active volunteers for the March of Dimes.
Amber and Peter Augustin's son, Lane, was born severely premature in 2004. Two years later, on Father's Day, a flood destroyed their home as well as Amber's beloved photography studio.
Lane, now 4-years-old, still must overcome the challenges of his early birth trauma and on-going health challenges.
Despite their adversities, the Augustins have raised thousands of dollars to support March of Dimes research and other programs to help prevent and treat premature birth.
"My dream is to raise national awareness that premature birth is a serious and growing problem," says Peter. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition not only gave us a new home, but is helping more moms have healthy, full-term babies by highlighting the March for Babies this year."
Farmers Insurance, a national sponsor the March for Babies, provided insurance for the new home for one year at no cost to the family.
The program will air on ABC, Sunday, March 1, 8-9 p.m. (ET).

March for Babies - 2009
When I started preparing for the 2009 March for Babies campaign the thought that I couldn't actually walk this year crossed my mind.
The thought of whether or not I should raise money this year never did.
These teeny tiny babies (and their parents) still need our help. As many of you know March of Dimes has been one of those groups that I have supported for years because I believe in what they do. March for Babies (formerly WalkAmerica) is an awesome nationwide effort to raise both money and awareness for these defenseless little ones.
If you would like to help March of Dimes please consider giving to our group. To find us online, please go here: http://www.marchforbabies.org/s_team_page.asp?seid=585828
When we formed Beyond the Walls we wanted to be able to not only praise God with music and reach the lost; we also have a burden to help those who cannot help themselves. That is why I took the opportunity to form a new team under our group name, Beyond the Walls.
If you have helped in the past, once again I THANK YOU! Whether you have or haven't given to this cause in the past, please prayerfully consider supporting March of Dimes in 2009.
