Phillipians 4:12-13 "... I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me".
"I can't change..."
"I'm not that bold..."
"I don't like to stir the pot..."
I am sure we all have at some point in our lives said these very words. We call down this invisible wall from the sky that welcomes no further discussion.... and we like it that way.
Paul tells the church of Philipi that we can do "all things". All things? ALL things? What does that even mean?
We are worthless on our own. I can't fix anyone or anything. I can't make myself a better person. I can't save myself FROM myself.
However, through Christ I can do ALL things. He uses us to help others and become people we never thought we would be. He helps us to overcome our fears and our anxieties.
He takes our burdens and our sins so that we don't have to carry them. Thank you Jesus!
I am not the man that I should be... but one day... through Christ... I will be. In Christ alone, my hope is found.
In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
