Forget the Past

Today's scripture of the day:
“This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19)

It is easy to get stuck in the past. Dwelling on what cannot be undone plagues my life at times. God says to "forget the former things" and tells us "do not dwell on the past". Why is it so difficult to just surrender those things to Him? Why is it so hard for me to just forget and move on?

God help me today to leave the past where it belongs and look forward to the "new thing" that you are trying to do in my life!
